"The Lovers and Friends Show" is a new series
Which is quickly become a cult classic. It's a new show about lesbians of color who find their ways through the vicissitudes of life while making new friends, establishing new relationships and being engaged in new drama all of the time. Kai is a medical student with an ex-girlfriend who is a psychotic. Tori is the comedienne who is involved with her boss and Yasmin is an activist who finds love in the wrong place. Mercedes is a social climber who doesn't realize the borders she crosses and Dre is the "bad boy" lady killer. The episodes are filled with exciting new adventures as we watch what it is like to be a lesbian in a closed world.
The series is set in south Florida and it is an integration of social relevant subject matter that we in the GLBT community face on a daily basis. Some of the issues looked at are coming out, drugs, violence, domestic abuse, gender roles, STDs and adoption.
